Soyinka Is Devious And Mischievious- South South Group

As reported by daily times ng, South-South Peoples Forum on Sunday condenmed a statement reportedly credited to Professor Wole Soyinka that described the present administration as a failure.
The forum said Soyinka’s conclusions were not only biased, but devious and saddled with mischief to pull down the current government.
The forum added that the Nobel Laurate was equally erroneous and miscalculated his plan to lay the foundation for civil unrest in the country.
The forum said “Our attention has been drawn to a recent publication in a national newspaper where Professor Wole Soyinka was quoted to have said that the present government of President Goodluck Jonathan is a failure.”
A statement issued Sunday in Abuja by the president of the forum, Dr. Joe Ambakederemo, said “The basis for his (Soyinka’s) analysis, while seeming misplaced and dictated by personal vendetta, only portrays a nation in turmoil.
“While responding to Soyinka, we are confronted by the possible misinterpretation of our intention, especially as the nation groans under challenging security moments.
“For the avoidance of doubt, all well-meaning Nigerians, including those in the Diaspora have expressed worry over recent developments, especially the abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls.
“This is a reflection of the fact that terrorism is a phenomenon all Nigerians must rise up to challenge and defeat.
“The offer by world powers to join in the search is apt in this regard as it is not debatable that terrorism anywhere in the world affects all.
“Therefore, the allusion of the security challenges by the professor to conclude that the government has failed leaves much to be desired.”
The forum said “For some time, we have watched Soyinka as he continues his unprovoked attack on President Jonathan and his government.
We had looked the other way because like other Nigerians his right to expression cannot be taken away from him. “However, in this case, we have a duty to remind Soyinka that his conclusions are not just biased, they are devious and laced with mischief to pull down the government.
They are equally erroneous and miscalculated to lay the foundation for civil unrest in the country. “The Malaysian example is what Nigerians need now in the face of the security challenges.
One wonders what the likes of Soyinka and others would have said if the unfortunate disappearance of the Malaysian aircraft with over 200 passengers had occurred in Nigeria.
“Like the case of the abducted schoolgirls, help has come Malaysian way from far and wide as rescue efforts continue even till this moment.”
